Book due for publication late 2025
Richard (fresh faced at the start of his career)
Richard Foster lives in the UK, and served as a police officer nearly three decades. His postings have included uniform and plain-clothed policing roles. He has been awarded a number of commendations for his involvement in serious criminal investigations. These covered murders, drug supply and child abuse cases.
Using his vast experience from a law enforcement background, he is now a founder and director of Brainstorm Security Ltd. This cyber security company helps individuals, companies and organisations with the human elements of cyber security, specialising in social engineering, ransomware negotiation, physical penetration testing, OSINT (open-source intelligence gathering) and training.
Richard grew up in Rochdale, near Manchester. In the early 1990s he became a police officer in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Richard loves storytelling. He has discovered, over the years, that people love finding out what it is like to be a police officer. Richard is an experienced public speaker at commercial events, universities and smaller community organisations. He delivers talks on cyber crime and ransomware as well as his own incredible experiences and fascinating details about policing history.
Since retiring from the force, Richard has worked on his debut novel, ‘Stop, Police!’ with Sunday Times bestselling author, David Meikle.
Looking to the future, Richard plans to use his personal experiences for a series of fiction crime novels. Stay tuned!
